    Russian is Гордон correct?

    no i have trouble writing the letter д it looks and seems odd, so i was wondering if there is a specific way of writing it OR if it is okay to mix cursive and non because i know that it is like a g in cursive. so would it be improper to write

    Горgон

    "Горgон" in your message looks really, really weird on my screen, with the "g" looking like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/lwr/1561171629/ (in other word, it looks as the English g in, say, Times New Roman). That's not acceptable.
    But if you write it as the small G is normally written in cursive handwritten style, i.e. similar to q, but with a loop instead of the straight line, it will look just like most of us Russians normally write our д's in handwritten texts.

    Some Russians can write the same letter in a number of ways even in the same note!* It's often a mater of convinience and the choice depends on the nearby letters. But most people stick with 1-2 of their favourite variations for each letter.
    * An example of different "d"s in a note: http://caucatalog.narod.ru/summer2007/2 ... _nazal.jpg

    For blockletters many people use a "pointed D", it's faster to write:
    or it's variations. Like here:

    The most common cursive versions of "Д-д" look like that:
