In fact, we'd most likely just say "I saw the man with the girl", but without context that sentence is ambiguous and might not mean what the original poster intended to say.

It is perfectly correct. Not only that but this is the intended target sentence to be translated here. He had obviously, previously seen the man, who now he sees again with a girl.
