Thread: Important Verb Conjugations Part II

Based on everyones help and my own research, this is my preliminary list. My goal is to create an interlex file which contains the conjugations for verbs that are:

1. representative of a larger set of verb conjugations, or
2. an important irregular, and
3. is used frequently enough to be on a basic list of conjugations.

This preliminary list contains 78 verbs. It should contain all stress patterns in normal and reflexive verbs, a representative of each consonant transformation, a representative of each infinitive stem, verbs which are commonly prefixed, all irregulars found in the 1000 most common Russian words, and a few others I personally found interesting. I tried to make the list as dense as possible, choosing words which fell under multiple categories. I found it difficult to decide on whether some words should be included, so I am well aware that this list is very open for interpretation; that is why I value everyone's judgement.

Anyway, here is the list. Let me know what you think.

But I think you can investigate your list for some redundant verbs. There is no difference between "послать" and "прислать" in there conjugation patterns, I think one can find more such pairs...

the -оро- and -оло- verbs, the -ова- verbs, verbs in -чь. More ending in stressed -ти.

e.g. бороться; колоть; следовать; жечь; ети

It would probably be easier if you got ahold of one of those 501 Russian Verbs books.

(Let's see whether the filter picks that one up.)

Good catch on the послать and прислать.

I do have 501 Russian Verbs. Its been one of my sources.

Бороться and колоть are good additions. I looked at колоть, but it wasn't in 501 Russian Verbs, and then I never got back to it. Следовать should be represented by чуствовать. Жечь is a very interesting conjugation, but is it common or representative?

Надо упомянуть о глаголе ПЛЕВАТЬ!!!
