How do you spell “ъ” and “ь” in Russian and Ukrainian?

How do you spell “ъ” and “ь” in Russian and Ukrainian?

    For example:
    1 = One
    “ = Quotation
    _ = Underscore
    ` = Acute
    ‘ = Apostrophe
    ~ = Tilde
    ^ = Caret
    & = Ampersand
    < = “Less than”
    > = “Greater than”

Regarding the Ukrainian alphabet, why do some put “ь” at the very end and some put it between “щ” and “ю”?

I am not sure I understand your question. You type "ь" and "ъ" by hitting the "ь" and "ъ" keys respectively, in the Russian layout. Switch to the Russian layout and hit the key you normally use to type English "M". Voilà, you have a "ь". Now hit the key (while still in the Russian layout) that you use to type the closing square bracket ( ] ) in English. Now you have a "ъ".

No, no, no. I thought I made this completely obvious. I know how to type ъ and ь. HOW DO YOU SPELL THEM? HOW DO YOU PRONOUNCE THEM? 1 is not pronounced 1, 1 is pronounced "one". & is not pronounced &, it is pronounced "ampersand". No one tells you to type in an *, they tell you to type in an "asterisk".

How do you say ъ and ь in Russian?
How do you say ъ and ь in Ukrainian?

    1 is spelled One
    “ is spelled Quotation
    _ is spelled Underscore
    ` is spelled Acute
    ‘ is spelled Apostrophe
    ~ is spelled Tilde
    ^ is spelled Caret
    & is spelled Ampersand
    < is spelled Less than
    > is spelled Greater than

    ъ is spelled/pronounced __________ in Russian?
    ь is spelled/pronounced__________ in Russian?

ъ is spelled/pronounced__________ in Ukrainian? (actually, they don't have this symbol in Ukrainian do they?)
    ь is spelled/pronounced__________ in Ukrainian?

I'm trying to recite the alphabet out loud from А to Я in Russian and Ukrainian.

There is no such letter in Ukrainian. Partially its functions performs the sign ` (апостроф, apostroph).

ь is spelled/pronounced м`якИй знак (miakiy znak = "soft sign") in Ukrainian.
"Россия для русских" - это неправильно. Остальные-то чем лучше?

I'm no an expert of Ukrainian but, since the languages are close to each other, I'd dare to guess that the situation is like in Russian.
In Russian we have "ь" at the ends of words because we need to express that the last consonant is soft. Example: "голь"
unlike "гол" - a different word.

The symbols "ь" and "ъ" in the middle of words have the second function - of apostrophe - the speaker makes a short stop at the place of them. Example: "помощью". That is the answer for your second question.
    Please correct my English

    Sorry,

I'm not talking about UKRAINIAN WORDS, I'm talking about the UKRAINIAN ALPHABET.

Some put ь in the middle of the Ukrainian alphabet, and some put it at the very end

Some show the alphabet the first way, some show the alphabet the second way. Which is correct?

The variant with ЩЬЮЯ` is one I think to be correct. But in practice there is little difference because no one word begins with Ь in Ukrainian and so there are no corresponding chapters in vocabularies.
