    Help with translation

    Today I read -> Дума голосам ЕР приняла проект о...
    1. What does EP mean and how do you read it in the sentence?
    2. Does приняла mean aprroved ?

    If someone проведёт пресс-конференцию, does it mean that they hold it?

    It's голосами (typo)
    ЕР - Единая Россия (a fraction/party whose representatives are in the "duma")
    Read that abbreviation just like the letters read in the abc: йе, эр
    yes, приняла = approved, accepted
    проведёт -- yes, they hold it

    "голосами" here means "via", "by means of" the votes of this fraction. (Not really standard usage)
