    Grammar - Genitive and Accusitive

Hi Folks. Could anyone please advise on this grammar:

    "Here are three red tables

Am I correct in thinking that after 2,3, and 4 the nouns are no longer nominitive but genitive singular instead? What happens to the adjective - is it also genitive singular or maybe genitive plural?

And (from гость) how would I say:

I want to feed the tall guests

I want to feed two tall guests

    TIA
    Rob

You can кормить only an animal or a kid, but not a tall guest. Also you can кормить lodgers, if you are owner of a hotel.
"Кормить гостей" - sounds ok (for example, if it's your birthday and you have many guests), but not "высоких гостей".

I offer "Я хочу посадить за стол (двух) высоких гостей."
In Russian, all nationalities and their corresponding languages start with a lower-case letter.

Оля, tall in this sentence doesn't mean важных... It literaly means высоких ростом... И какая тогда проблема с их кормлением?..

As far as plural forms are concerned, they are regarded Nominative irrespective of the actual form of the word if they are used in situations where nominative should be used. However, if we speak of coinsidences between plural forms and other cases, then the whole thing looks something like this:
    2, 3, 4, 22, 23, 24 and so on (with the exception of 12, 13, 14) -- Gen. sg. (24 бабы, 24 стола, 24 слона)
5+ -- gen. pl (пять баб, пять столов, пять слонов)
    21, 31, and so on -- nom. sg. (21 баба, 21 стол, 21 слон)

And note, that when you speak of одушевленные items of masculinum gender, than you should use another type of numerals:
Двое мужиков, двое студентов, трое Путиных usw.
    Будьте здоровы!

"Старый мельник" is a brand name.

    The correct form would be
    принесите две бутылки "Старого Мельника"

I wouldn't recommend study Russian in a beer pub, though

The attributive adjective hides in the genitive plural in the presence of the cardinal numeral 2-4.

After 2,3,4 masculine nouns are the genitive singular
After 2,3,4, feminine nouns are in the nominative plural (however most learners material says it's the genitive sinular. The gen. sig. is usually the same as the nom. plu. for feminine nouns. However the adjective gives it away by being in the nominative plural form.
