    Nice try of treatment but still questionable. For example, the statement that perfective refers to the finalization part of the action only. If you want to say specifically that the action (that was started previously) was finished, you normally should use a perfective verb with prefix до-, which is not a default perfective couple.

    I finished reading. = Я дочитал. Прочитал (default perfective couple) is still an action "as a whole" if not stated otherwise.

    I feel that treatment of "occupation" (imperfective) vs "objective" (perfective) works better.


    And BTW the very rule that verbs goes in perf-imp coupes is way not so absolute.
