    How do you say it in Russian? Like, "my buddy was featured in an article"...

    Не так легко перевести.
    О моём друге (в газете, журнале) была статья или Мой друг был упомянут в журнале/газете.

    "There are three featured in the film. - Троих из них вы видели в фильме."
    featured- русский перевод - bab.la словарь
