Вас is prepositional too. Some different uses. Деньги при вас? С вас ___ рублей. По/прошу вас!
Conceptionally the same diffence exists in English between "him" and "his", even though they are singular. This is not an exact correspondence, but these pronouns are vestigial remains of a functioning case system in English.
