I am posting in a Russian speaking forum and some members derailed my topic (i.e. Derailment occurs when a discussion of one issue is diverted into a discussion of another issue).

Can I say мой топик сходил с рельсов?

I would say обсуждение or тема.
Топик is the English word, however there is a word топика used as a scientific term (meaning complex of themes).

In this case I would say: Мою тему сорвали. Обсуждение, начатое мной, сорвали. Тему, начатую мной, сорвали.

There is the expression "сходить с рельсов". It's possible to say something like Тема сошла с рельсов. - which sounds here more figurative than the English 'derail' (in English it's a set idiom, in Russian it sounds OK, but not so typical for such situations).

If you want to place "topic" as subject, then yes, it's difficult to come up with something "pure Russian".

Вы можете использовать глагол "зафлудить"/"зафлуживать". Он часто употребяется не только в значении "заполнять бесполезными сообщениями", но в значении, которое вы указали: discussion of one issue is diverted into a discussion of another issue.
