First of all the russian in me doesnt like "чувствовать через душу", we don't say it that way, though it is grammatically correct and i can understand the deep meaning of the phrase.
And I have feeling that reflexive verb sounds somehow wrong in your example (отрезан от реальности sounds good though). I'd go for a different word.
Also you repeat word "способность" two times for no particular reason, i'd change one of them to avoid tautology.

Способность человека чувствовать душой зависит от его умения отрешиться от реальности.
