    case question

    Третий же поисковых отряд сегодня был вынужден приостановить продвижение к двум другим военным самолётам, потерпевшим катастрофу.

    катастрофу appears to be in the accusative, why is that?

    терпеть is transitive.

    Самолет потерпел (что?) катастрофу (a.c.)

    Самолет, потерпевший катастрофу.
    Самолеты, потерпевшие катастрофу.
