Can someone help me with this vocabulary please?
Здравствуйте!!
I have been learning russian for about 2 months seriously and am working towards a russian GCSE on my own. I have looked up the following in a fairly comprehensive dictionary, however the entries seem to be quite lacking, mainly due to my apparant lack of russian grammatical knowledge. I would like to know how to express the following in russian. If theverbs take any special cases, then, if possible it would be great if I could be notified of this. Both aspects would be helpful too.
"to lie in" - as in sleep longer at the weekends for example.
"to be drunk" - I am aware there is no "to be" in russian, but is there a set phrase?
"to get drunk"
the adjective "strong", as in a "strong alcoholic drink, for example русская водка
the term for "homework", as in the work a pupil completes at school.
the word for "weekend"
the word for a "mobile phone"
the words for "to learn" and "to study"
Having studied German to a fairly (I am currently doing my AS level), I am aware that some languages distinguish from "learning" a language at school level, and "studying" a language at university. Is this the case in Russian? Or is there some other way the Russians make it clear, if at all?
Большое спасибо за помощь с русским язиком
Джек

there is no "to be" in russian - why?
to be drunk - быть пьяным.

If I'm not mistaken (if I've understood it in English right), it's "опьянеть" or "стать пьяным".

Yes, something like that.

Лечь - to lie (down). (Наверное, lie in тоже можно).
А почему тебе так сильно не понравилось "валяться"?

Утром в постель лечь может только человек, который всю ночь где-то шлялся.
To sleep longer (at the weekends) = валяться в постели (когда не надо вставать на работу).

Не то, чтобы мне не понравилось, а то, что я беспокоился потому что всегда говорю "лечь" и, прочитав твой ответ, я думал, что всё это время я ошибался. Поэтому я так и отреагировал.))
