I saw this sentence on the Internet -> В связи с попыткой срыва концерта XXX возбуждено дело.

Does "срыв" mean "failure" or "disruption" or anything else?

the idea is 'they tried to do something to prevent the concert from happening', like a mass protest, disorder, or in a more civilised way they can do it through legal means.

verb is сорвать концерт - narušit koncert? - basically 'prevent it from happening'.

or you can say Произошёл срыв моих планов. Мои планы были сорваны. - My plan was broken.

I forgot to ask one more question. Is "было" omitted because the sentence is a headline? So in headlines you omit verbs like "быть"?

Yes, you are partly right, it is because the sentence is a headline. But sometimes "было" is also omitted when the result of this action is still present. For example, you can say "Москва основана в 1147 году", because Moscow is still there. However, if you say: "Москва была основана в 1147 году" the historical fact in the past is important here.

Imho, in Russian, there is no special grammar for headlines as is it in English. Yes, headlines tend to be short, but not at the expense of omitting the auxiliary words. Russian headlines usually sound as normal phrases.
