следовать - to follow, go after
следить - a. to spy on somebody, shadow, look after, watch for something attantively/ b. to make the footmarks on the clean floor or wet ground, or fresh snow and other.

- Your Majesty, follow me and put your head on this executioner's block, please.

- He didn't follow the others' advice. That's why his funeral was arranged with a great deal of taste.

    One more exsamle:
- During the official commemorative dinner dedicated to the death of the chief of the tribe: "Perhaps he wasn't a good chief, notwithstanding he had excellent taste!

- Our dear boy took after his poor dead father in everything to do with drinking and women - he is so full of life!

    -------

Watch my hands: here I'm holding your wallet, and - poof - it is gone!

- Oh, good God, only look what you have done! Hurry up, darling, take a napkin and wash out all this blood before the police arrive!

In Russian, all nationalities and their corresponding languages start with a lower-case letter.
