What's the closest English translation of this word? It's not in my dictionary, and online translators seem to vaguely see it as meaning "pressed through."

If it helps, in the context it's describing a chair ("продавленное кресло").

Maybe: A worn-out chair? A chair that was been well used? A chair that has seen a lot of sitting action?

You're right that продавленный means 'pressed through'. Продавленное кресло means that there are some kind of dents in it.

When you sit down on the продавленное кресло you feel your ass fall through.
