    отправление / отьезд

Both these words are translated into English as "departure".
What is the difference between their meaning in Russian?
Could you help with some (easy!) examples?

Отправление originates from "отправить" = to send, to dispatch.
So, "отправление" is the process of sending (dispatching) or the start of the sending (dispatching).
Поезд отправляется с первого пути. The train is about to start from the first line. (The departure of the train is about to start from the first line).

Отъезд is the process of riding away.
Перед отъездом надо закончить работу. Before departure one need to complete his work.

Отправление - dispatch, dispensation, transmission, despatch.
Отъезд - leave, leaving, going, parting.
