These are grammar examples that I asked to get a pronouncation for..
But a native Russian speaker says:

In the first sentence it's better to put the adverb of place after the verb.
In the second sentence there should be a short form of the verb "расположена".

I don't understand how/what to change, or why. Could somebody explain?

-Сегодня я хотела бы пойти туда пешком.
-Она расположена в одном из самых дешёвых районов Москвы.

    1) It works like in English: to go there - пойти туда. You would say "there to go"

    2) расположенная - an adjective
    расположена - a verb

    Ok, thanks a lot!

But it's very irritating that these examples come from a grammar site!! I didn't make it up myself!

Half the time that I ask about something that comes from a grammar site online, somebody says that it is bad Russian. What the... ?!

I mean who are all these people that are giving these rubbish examples? What is going on!!

The first phrase is from the Pimsleur transcripts right on this site.

Edit: The sentence from Wiktionary might be my own fault. The original was: "Расположенная в одном из самых дешёвых районов Москвы" I added the first word because I thought the sentence was incomplete.

I stay corrected, the verb would be располагается, расположена is a participle. My mistake was that this word is a predicate in the sentence, so an ajective wouldn't work here.

-Сегодня я хотела бы туда пойти пешком.
-Она расположенная в одном из самых дешёвых районов Москвы.
The first phrase is slightly imperfect for the literary style but acceptable.
The second one is an error.
"Россия для русских" - это неправильно. Остальные-то чем лучше?

The phrase in wiki is perfect, you shouldn't add Она here.

    Really? What about "Она зелёная"?

    Edited:

Thanks for the responses. Oops, it seems I mostly messed this up myself then.. And it is not news to any regular forum user that Pimsleur is full of strange expression that no native speaker would use.. So I guess it was not so strange after all.

I just want to mention something fyi - "my bad" is usually not heard this side of the Atlantic! It's normally a giveaway that the writer/speaker is American!

Oh and one more thing - it is I STAND corrected.
One of these strange English expressions that don't make a lot of sense....

Ok so the sentence should be:

Она расположена в одном из самых дешёвых районов Москвы. (and it means)
It is situated in one of the very cheapest neighbourhoods in Moscow.

and the sentence is fine as long as it refers to a feminine noun. It could refer to a church (церковь) or a school (школа) for example, since they are feminine nouns.

By the way, what are some cheap neighbourhoods of Moscow, out of interest? Are such neighbourhoods dangerous?

No, not more dangerous than other districts IMHO. Moscow typical cheap neighbourhood - "sleeping district" with bad ecology (some dirty plants nearby) with no metro station, far from center with bad traffic infrastructure. For example Капотня (district there oil refinery plant, two coal-prosessing plants and an energy plant located) or Южное Бутово (district without metro station and very far from center (outside circle road), it's almost impossible to get out of there during the peek hour (one can spend several hours to get to the sity center from there).

I've pointed the cheapest neighbourhoods of Moscow with black circles on this map:

    Капотня:

    That's interesting to know.
Actually Moscow is pretty intimidating as a city so large!! Even larger than London and Paris...
If I visited there, it would probably be the largest city I'd ever been to! Unless Tokyo is bigger than Moscow; I don't know.

В Москве (да и России) нет дешёвых районов .
Дешёвыми они могут выглядеть (или звучать) только глазами иностранцев .
