    об-ще-жи́-ти·е

    The rule here is that after щ the "e" is pronounced like "иэ" and not like "и" even if there is not stress on it!

    No. I don’t think there is some special rule about щ.
    I pronounce it like «апщижы́тие». People with еканье pronounce it with [э].
