Again and again the same questions.

In English we have the words: suffer and torture.

e.g. I suffer from guilts

e.g. He is torturing his children

The easy words are:
(a) страдать = suffer
(b) пытать = torture

The difficult words are:
мучать(-ся) / замучать(-ся)

и

мучить(-ся) / ???

Yes, there are two options. They have no difference in meaning.
мучит is a bit more bookish while мучает is a bit more colloquial.

Мучать is widely used in the colloquial speech (in the meaning close to to annoy, I think)
"Ах, не мучай меня, дорогая, - сказала Герцогиня, - цифры - это моё слабое место!"

Also, мучиться (мучаться) - to struggle:
Я до сих пор мучаюсь с этой проблемой.

Suddenly, пытаться = to try.
