I don't know how IV Fluids are called commonly in English, because it sounds scientific.
An English-speaking patient would most likely say "They put me on IV Fluids."

English-speaking doctors and nurses might be more likely to say "We should put the patient on an IV drip."

In other words, "IV drip" sounds slightly more like doctor-jargon, but in either case, "to put [someone] on [it]" is the ideal verb construction.
