Hello... I have just a little question. I am sending a letter to a family in Russia that I have become acquainted with. I want to address it to the whole family (for example: "to the Karenin family") only I'm not that sure how to say that... could somebody please help? Thanks kindly for any replies!

Are you asking what to write on the envelope or how to start the letter? On the envelope you could simply write Карениным. With respect to starting the letter, I would probably list all the family members, something like this:
Уважаемые Ирина Павловна и Андрей Леонидович, Лена и Петя!
