You've not even asked for this to be translated, that's not very polite. I'm not going to translate this and I urge other posters not to either.

Well, maybe he or she was so amazed by these lyrics, so even forgot to ask.
And thread is named "Translate it".

Come on, the OP probably thought that he or she made his/her request clear by posting in an appropriate forum .

The reason I am not going to try and translate is because I am lazy, and translating Paternak well is not an easy task.

Yeah, intricate civilities are not necessary. I would translate this poem if it weren't way above my leage.
But "thanks" afterwards is always nice. Some people forget about that and treat us as some online translators.

    By Boris Pasternak.

    Translated by Alex Miller

    February. Get ink, shed tears.
Write of it, sob your heart out, sing,
    While torrential slush that roars
Burns in the blackness of the spring.

Go hire a buggy. For six grivnas,
Race through the noice of bells and wheels
To where the ink and all you grieving
Are muffled when the rainshower falls.

To where, like pears burnt black as charcoal,
A myriad rooks, plucked from the trees,
Fall down into the puddles, hurl
Dry sadness deep into the eyes.

Below, the wet black earth shows through,
With sudden cries the wind is pitted,
The more haphazard, the more true
The poetry that sobs its heart out.

I don't care if it's in the "Translate this!" section. If someone wants someone else to spend time translating something for them, they should at least have the courtesy to say please and thank you.

This what's stupid about this forum, someone can't write the F word in a completely neutral context when asking about Russian slang, but people can make impolite requests like this poster, which actually is rude, and it's considered OK.
