ваивания => no such word
присваивания (pl) => присваивание (s) = taking over the ownership
The root of "присваивание" is "свой" meaning "own".
In the realm of computer languages, "присваивание" means "assignment".
Hope it helps.
its Nominative form is "присваивание". It is a deverbal noun for the verb присваивать "to appropriate" (you can clearly see the connection to the word "свой" here). Well, the verb can actually have two meanings -1. to take for your own or 2. to assign some rank to a person/ value to a variable/ name and so on. Thus, the noun also has these two meanings - an act of assignment or an act of taking ownership and possession over something.
Not a very useful word but it does have a meaning.

Thank you for your help. When you say it is not a useful word, what do you mean? How would the word be used; for example, is it a legal term or a military term?
I can imagine Genitive "присваивания" ("of an assignment") in a sentence like "This issue arised as a result of an assignment a particular value to a dynamic float16 variable when all temp registers were full."
(and something similar if the word is used as "taking over ownership", like "The person mentioned was involved in a case of misappropriation in 2006, case subject to appeal later in.....")
Just like in English, in Russian it would be more "natural" and less bookish to use a verb ("there was a problem when we assigned...", "when a value was assigned") rather than a deverbal noun. In this particular case, of course. The sole use of this word already marks the supposed style of a passage as stilted and formal; it is certainly formal writing, not everyday speech.
There are two terms, rather close: присваивание and присвоение. They have mainly the same set of meanings (the difference is often contextual and relates to the big and complicated topic of verb aspect) but as a matter of fact the former is used mainly in programming while the latter - as a legal or military term.
In programming:
Операция присваивания - assignment operator.
As legal term:
appropriation of a piece of property [of the best land] — присвоение (чужой) собственности [лучшей земли]
As a military term:
promotion by merit — внеочередное присвоение звания
"Россия для русских" - это неправильно. Остальные-то чем лучше?
