This is a grammatically incorrect statement that I've never heard.

I think the issue here is hold of vs. hold on

You can say "if the nurse gets a hold of you..."
or "gets hold of you..."
Meaning if she physically catches you.

To "have a hold on" or "get a hold on" on someone is more of a mental thing like love or control, not physical.
