the correct phrase is:
gets a hold on you
OR
gets hold of you.
These are the only two possibilities, and they both mean pretty much the same thing. I don't understand how google gave you the wrong answer - does it omit the article?
(Actually, possibly a third "gets ahold of".)
Well, my google shows only six hits for "gets hold on" probably because it's incorrect grammar.
