    Молодец means 'a fine fellow'
    Молодец means 'a brave fellow'

But it all depends on context; the same with other meanings of this word.

So, "маладец", with a and not o is just an incorrect spelling and not some new word that I am not aware of?

Просто это слово так произносится, поэтому некоторые (в основном неграмотные) пишут его так.

This can be difficult for those of us who are already illiterate, but that is why I am here. Hopefully I will learn even more.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.

That's why we are all here. You want to improve your Russian whereas we want to help you and improve our English. Don't hesitate to ask any questions you have got. We will try to help you.
It can be very hard for those who are already illiterate to learn how to spell. It can take a lot of time to master the art of spelling.

I think there is some fad going around for misspelling certain words. This would be a fitting example. I think i't's supposed to be cool or something.

    Haven't you seen хочецца напицца?

I won't give yoiu names and addresses. Whoever wants it - I've seen kids (teenagers) writing like this on purpose, some online forum users. Same applies for Russians, including some people on this forum.

    молодец -- Good job!
    молодец -- a fine fellow

I think if they spelled it as "маладец" then it means "good job!" because "o" letters sound like "a" when unstressed.

Prages - they didn't tell you, nobody can translate a word unless you provide the context.

From the context of the subsequent discussion and my judgement of how often the word молодец occurs in speech and IM messages with what meaning, I would bet my bottom dollar that maladec does not mean "fine fellow" or whatever, but rather "good going!", "good for you!" (high-fiving), sort of like "attaboy".

maladec does or does not mean "fine fellow"; after all, it is written incorrect.
молодец means 'fine fellow' the word stress is on the first syllable and of cource the letter is "o". But this word is a bit archaic, I think.

My suggestion was based on the traditional meanings checked with the explanatory dictionary.
