    wrist watch translation

    hi

    I have a russian wrist watch could some one translate the words
    on it for me

    kpachar (r is reversed) apmnr (again r is reversed) anr apmnn tonbro

    "kpachar apmnr" is really "красная армия" or red army.

    cccp - СССР - USSR

    The rest is uncomprehensible

    He seems to be using "n" to refer to и, though he could change them around, I guess.

    Waxwing, I think you are right on! That's the only reading that makes any sense.

    Rex, next time please be more precise and consistent when you try to render the appearance of Russian letters. For example, there is no letter in Russian that looks like inverted 'r'. However, there is one that looks like inverted 'R'. There is no letter that looks like "h". But sure enough, we have one that looks like 'H'. Etc., etc.

    I found that they produced watches with inscription "Заказ МО СССР" (MO = Министерство Обороны, Department of Defense), not sure about with "для армии только".
    rex, could you take a picture of your watch and post it here?

    «Командирские» первых выпусков, 1965 год. Механизм этих часов, в отличие от обычного 2214, имел устройство останова баланса при вытягивании заводной головки и носил маркировку 2234. Корпус часов – водозащищенный, цифры и стрелки покрыты светящимся составом. В нижней части циферблата хорошо видна надпись: «Заказ МО СССР». Первые «Командирские» не имели вращающегося диска времени.
