Where in Ukraine does she live?
If it's Eastern or Southern Ukraine it's pretty possible that her native language is Russian.
Though I'm sure she'll appreciate your efforts.

If he's going to propose to her, he probably knows her well enough to know what her native language is, don't you think?

    You can say:

    You can also say:

    ты выйдешь за меня?

Давай поженимся! (Not really a question though, just a suggestion. "Let's get married!")

Well, I dunno. It still doesn't sound native (Ukrainian).
I've got a TV, and I'm not afraid to use it

    Re: Marriage

    That may help:
(I love you)
(Be my wife, (my heart))
    or
(I want to be your husband)
(Let's get married)

It could be just me, but I have a hunch that he doesn't read cyrillic. maybe we should transliterate it to the latin alphabet?

But I do think it is important, MightyG3, to find out if she speaks Ukranian or Russian, because there are many Ukranians who only speak Russian.
I am a notourriouse misspeller. Be easy on me.

All Ukrainians understand both though. But yes, it is good to know what your wife's native language is although when I am asked about it I often answer that both are.
