    Translation please?

    Hi,

I would like an accurate translation of the phrase "Once upon a time..." please. I have researched the translation but it's important that its accurate and im not always sure general internet sources are 100% correct. Thanks

What do you mean as "accurate" and "100% correct"? If you need a word-by-word translation, it will have no sense.
Here is one of the phrases Russian fiery tales are often started from, which means more or less the same:

    "Давным-давно..."
"Россия для русских" - это неправильно. Остальные-то чем лучше?

It can also be translated as: однажды..., как то раз..., but depends on the context.

e.g. "Once upon a time there was a big brown bear who loved writing software" - жил был большой бурый медведь...
Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder.

Also in fairy tales it may be rendered as "Жили-были".

"Чатлане" comes from soviet film "Кин-дза-дза!". Чатлане are name of community from the Плюк planet.
I have not seen this film, you may try to read more from Russian Wiki at Персонажи фильма «Кин-дза-дза!» — Википедия

    Напрасно . The Best.

Возможно, в контексте интернета "чат-лане" имеется в виду участники некого ЧАТ-а. Созвучно английскому "chat".
А вообще чАтлане - местные жители, которые имеют некоторые преимущества перед остальными пришлыми. Отличаются тем, что на них специальный прибор зажигает лампочку другого цвета, чем на остальных (чужих) . Других отличий между ними (чатланами и пацаками) обнаружено не было .

I'm having a tough time with this one. Can the meaning be translated to English? Does it make sense?

    Mi priehali К gosti WAM W ...
    pridiotsja podelitsja kuskom piroga

    or

Mi priehali k wam w gosti...
    pridiotsja podelitsja kuskom piroga

    Thanks!

Thank you--I did not write the question clearly. I did want to know which one was correct but I also wanted to know the meaning of the phrase.

Your English is much better than my Russian! ; )

Can anybody help me with this, please. I cannot understand the bold part of the quote.

    Hello, Cadenza!!

I'll try to explain. The woman had such qualities as style, aristocratism, bloodline, strength, but when she wasn't dressed well,
nobody saw that, but suggested. And when she dressed decently, these qualities became visible to all.
