    Translation of watch text

    Hi all,

I hope you can help me, I hate to be the guy that comes to a forum to ask one question, but I think I might be here a bit, I hope I can help some of you in the future as well.

I am a collector of wrist watches and have received a new one for Christmas, I am unsure of the make and model of this watch and am keen to try and track down the history.

If someone could please help me translate the text from the front and back of the watch, it would help me hugely to finding out when and where it was made?

Thank you so much in advance if someone can help, I will be very greatful.

    Matt

    Hi.
    Commander's watch
17 stones (no idea what this means - maybe, the name of producer)
    made in USSR
    on the back: waterproof

As far as I know commander's watches are very good.
Я изучаю английский язык и поэтому делаю много ошибок. Но я не прошу Вас исправлять их, Вы можете просто ткнуть меня носом в них, или, точнее, пихнуть их мне в глаза. I'm studying English, and that's why I make a lot of mistakes. But I do not ask you to correct them, you may just stick my nose into them or more exactly stick them into my eyes.

Но так же не всегда всё, что не делается, не делается не к худшему. : D

"17 stones" means that machinery of watch has inside 17 rubies (or corundum) which is employed in the capacity of support for gears.
"17 камней" означает, что механизм часов имеет внутри 17 рубиновых (или корундовых) камней, которые используются в качестве опор для шестерней.

Пожалуйста, если я ошибся при составлении английского предложения, переведите кто-нибудь это более корректно.

    I will add more

This watch is produced on a watch-producing facility, which has "Восток" name(whose name is "Восток").

    Восток = East

Командирские means something like 'squad leader's' or 'platoon leader's' (generally, yeah, commander or any military unit leader).

    Just to clarify
That watch has nothing to do with an army

yeah, thanks for the clarification. The name Командирские is more like a brand (for marketing).
