    if she asks for money don't give it to her.
    Вот это да, я так люблю себя. И сегодня я люблю себя, ещё больше чем вчера, а завтра я буду любить себя to ещё больше чем сегодня. Тем что происходит,я вполне доволен!

    You don't know about mail-orderd brides, do you...

    Anyway, this topic sucks. It looks like someone horny trying to pick-up a young girl.

    My point was that Dogboy182 seemed to be getting at a girl (Russian one, no doubt) having plans to fool a poor American. And it's not 90's, we all know it may happen but jeez, let them have their fun! Ok, he wants to pick up a chik, so what? I mean, c'mon - is there anything wrong in picking up?

    If you use translit, at least learn how to write it properly.

    szisn = zhizn'
    yakovlev = jakovlev
    soiuz = sojuz

    etc
    -- Да? Коту Ваське, бл##?
    -- Нет, Я кот Васька :-/

    There is no any one and only "proper" way to use translit. Szisn is really weird, but soiuz and especially yakovlev are ok to me.
    In Russian, all nationalities and their corresponding languages start with a lower-case letter.

    Meh... What a nonsense. There are more than one standard translit systems (ISO-9, Universal, various GOSTs, etc.), they are all equally 'correct'. So stop showing off.

    On the quoted one, google don't agree with you. In what system can 'з' be transliterated as 's' ???
    Russian is tough, let’s go shopping!

    bugger off!
    I just miswrote it as I always do typing in Russian. I never remember how to spell russian ж in translite - it's true. But his girlfriend will understand even the word szisn.
    Я так думаю.

    Ph-lease... On what planet jakovlev is more correct than yakovlev?

    If V.T corrected only 'szisn' it would be useful (maybe), but arrogant yapping about 'learning translit' while correcting words, that are perfectly ok, is bordering on ridiculous. There are no universal rules! Different systems contradict each other, so people mostly write in translit the way they think is correct.

    Anyway, to make life easier it's better to use translit converter: http://translit.cc/

    I am a follower of that type of transliteration, which makes clear what I write to different people best, judging by what place they come from. For English-speaking folk, for example, it is useful to transliterate messages according to their native phonological system. Do you agree?
