    2. "Я изучаю мореплавание". However I do not think someone will tell it like this in real life. There are many roles in shipping and "мореплавание" is too abstract and usually they say something like "Учусь на моряка" или "Учусь в мореходке".

    Так как Antonio1986 не привёл никакого контекста, то можно только гадать. Shipping - может быть и перевозка грузов. Things are shipped by trains, planes, buses, and trucks all the time. FedEx is also а shipping company.
