    Quick question

    Hi everyone,

How would you tell someone to have a good evening? Not just good evening but "have a good evening" or "have a good night". Someone polite to say as you are leaving besides пока or До свидания. Any help would be appreciated.

    Sara

Good night

You could say, as a polite way to part:

    Good day!
    Good evening! -

If you want to emphasize that they HAVE a good evening

If you mean something like "have a good evening" or "enjoy your evening" you can't really find a direct analogy in Russian. Добрый вечер is used as greeting, спокойной ночи means good night.... You could say something like "Желаю вам хорошо/весело/приятно провести вечер" but it is not really used instead of a good bye, only as an addition to one...

he asked for parting words, not a greeting. Im starting to think that people on this forum dont even read entire posts, they just jump right into trying to show off some skillz.

Anyways, as far as perticular sayings for NIGHT TIME, I dont know besides 'good night'. If ur just looking for something diffrent then say like до встречи, or Давай браток...

    Whatever the situation calls for.

Well, maybe you not aware of this, but you can use these phrases as parting words! They are polite words, maybe a little archaic.

And if you had read his post fully yourself he wanted POLITE words not давай браток, you skill shower, you!

I'd say, "Пока! Удачно провести вечер!" - you should remember that it's informal. If you don't say "ты" to each other, you can say more formally, "До свидания.Желаю Вам приятного вечера".
