Maybe "Я тебя слушаю"(I'm listening to you) or "Я тебя смущаю"(I embarrass you) (but the letter isn't very likely IMHO)

I can't correct it easily. 'taking the advantage' should be 'taking advantage' I think. Basically it's pretty good.

But I have no idea what 'mulish' means.

OK mulish as in like a mule. Obstinate, stubborn.
Mulish, as far as I know, is not in common usage at all so better to use one of those other words.

Why? The meaning is "You are using this circumstance (I am not complaining)". I just pointed to this advantage he used.
