Is it me or all Russians ever write is love letters?

... And all anyone wants to write back to them is more of the same?

    What's up with that?

I suggest we have a Russian love fest. Everybody write your favorite sweet nothingness (or somethingness), and we'll have a mother of all phrasebooks.

    I'll start:

Солнце мое, когда, ну когда же ты наконец приедешь ко мне со своими взрослыми детьми и, получив зеленую карту, наставишь мне рога и бросишь? Мне так тебя не хватает! / Sun of mine, when oh when will you come to live with me with your grown up children and, having secured a green card, cheat on me and leave me? How I miss you!

Well, I think love is what brought many of the Russian learners to the language in the first place. Just some of them stuck to it.

Ok, the joke is not working. I really wanted to start a list of Russian love phrases, but the moment I wrote "Солнце мое", the rest kind of just flowed.

Yup, a female interest brought me to this wonderful language, but it's my own will that keeps me here... :P

A female interest? You did not just say "a female interest"...

I have to hear it in Russian!

I'll give it a whirl... And in a year when I have more knowlege, I'll give you the correct answer!

    женский интерес female interest
(just in case you can't say that)
    интересная женщина - interesting female

So, do your worst, and correct me!

    I can't. It's a terrible expression in English.

    Женский интерес means female curiosity

That sounds good to me... I suppose I shouldn't have used the present tense, then, because it isn't a curiosity to me anymore!!!!!!!!

so, I guess I have to revise:

    "она была женским интересом"

    As always, corrections are welcome!

He is reacting to your english, not testing your Russian, Fantom!

He wants to know what you really mean by "a female interest"...

Oh my God, I just realized that what I said was ambiguous, and I didn't mean "Just in case YOU can't say this"

I meant "just in case this isn't proper grammar in Russian"

Sorry if I caused any confusion!

Is that how it is with all russian women?
Какая разница, умереть богатым или бедным?

Какой толк от богатства если ты не счастлив.
