    A little help...

My friend from work sent me this and I have no clue what half the words are. He probably tried using an on-line translation page cause I think it's horrible. I think he is bragging about some sports thing but have no clue. All I can get out of this is something about cabbage soup. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

NO. NO TRANSLATOR IS THAT TERRIBLE. I think he's intentionally farking with you by intentionall misspelling stuff. Not sure if it's supposed to be an padonki thing or another gag.

    It is called "Bulgarian".

Well I know Аз = Я in Bulgarian
    And Ъ is a vowel/schwa.

    Щи = Cabbage soup
Ще in Ukrainian = Ещё in Russian, so it might be the same in Bulgarian.

That makes a little more sense if it is in Bulgarian.

    Thanks Taty

Kalinka, you are really beginning to frustrate me by using this word too often in vain! What is that supposed to mean? Seriously, I don't get it. Is it like Russian "padonki" slang phrase "жжошь, аффтар" or what?
Please correct my mistakes if you can, especially article usage.

I think he's giving me сrap because I incorrectly guessed that it was just padonki-ized Russian, not Bulgarian like TATY said. I got "burned" by incorrect. I guess that's what he's getting at.

Yes i think it is an internet thing that pardners with "flame". The flame "burns". Klinky is "rubbing it in".

"Burned!" "pwned" and "snap!" all basically mean the same thing - somebody made a relatively silly mistake and somebody else noticed it and corrected them. Example:

Person 1: "I can't understand what they are saying - I wish I spoke Canadian."

Person 2: "Hey asshat, i'm pretty sure they call it 'French'."

    Person 3: "Aww, snap!"

I don't know about St. Louis but around here you can't say 'snap' without being arfican-amercan. You'd just look like an idiot. I've never even heard of 'pwned' except the last time you mentioned it. 'Burn' is commonly used by all races.

Must be a Texas thing then -- I assure you that "aww snap" is not a racial thing. My HS had plenty of people who said it (and you could literally count on your hands the number of black students we had there). And "pwned" is an Internet-ism (since it is, as someone said earlier, a typo that became teh sexy). If you're an infrequent (or maybe just very professional, I-don't-go-to-the-non-Yahoo-sort-sites kind of guy) webuser you wouldn't know it.

Yeah, it is very similar to "pwned!". Actually Barm didn't get very burned in this topic, not like DDT in his. DDT makes his best attempt to write Russian, and someone comes and tells him not to use an online translator. Now that has gotta hurt (just like burning does... if you have ever tried it you know what I mean)

Flame is something else, I think. Flaming is when someone shouts down another person for whatever reason.

    1: "I like USA"

2: "(*&#$()*&%) YOU )(*$#%^$#% BASTARD, USA SUCKS! DIE!"

That is what I call flame.

    And...
Flaming takes place in an occurence called a "flamewar" and these are started by "trolls." "Don't feed the trolls!" is a common refrain.

E.G.: Someone will ask about, oh, say, the price of milk in Peoria, and some troll will say something like "MILK IS TEH OUTRAJUS PRICE! GEORGE BUSH INVADID IRAK AND RAPED THE COWS IN PEORIA. IMPICH GEORJE BUSSH." To which people will start lobbing back-and-forth political insults, curses, acts involving each others' mothers, etc.

"Burn" can also be short for "burn in hell".
