Hello everyone,
I received a SMS fro my Russian friend but I would not really understand whats the meaning in Russian.Can someone please kindly help me translate it from Russian to English?

This is what in the SMS:

Формально стилевой регистр не тот.

Было предложено слово motorbike, а не bike.

Ya poka ne znayu russkiy yazik, poetomu perestan pisat po-russki!
I don't know Russian yet, so please stop writing in Russian!

It would be of valuable use to append also:
Eto mne posovetovali napisat lyudi, znayushchie russkiy.
I was given the piece of advice from the people knowing Russian.

Just to be on the safe side if another puzzling SMS reply is received: "How on earth did you manage to write THAT?!"

Байк - сниженно-разговорный стиль. Hence bike.
Мотоцикл - нейтральный стиль. Hence motorbike.
