Please help me to translate in Russian the following:
1. I want to extend my social cycle (i.e. by meeting new people)
2. That person has a lot of connections (i.e. he knows a lot of people).
3. I doesn't interests me that he has an expensive car. Here my problem is whether I should use: Меня не интересует, что у него дорогая машина или Меня не интересует то, что у него дорогая машина.
Also when a person has a connection (i.e. he knows someone in the goverment/competition, or his father is rich or politician) that helps him to gain unfairly a grade, a working position, a contest etc. What we say in Russian? In Greek we say that that person has "μέσο = средство", is there anything relevant in Russian?
