Thread: Couple of simple questions

He loves russian culture: Он (nom) любит русская культура (nom)

OR Он любит русского (gen) культура.

see i would think it would be the second one because the "he" is the subject, or thing be named in the sentence, and we're basically saying "culture OF Russia"

"i live for the night" (like to go party, etc)

Я живу за ночью
Я живу для ночью

Could someone enlighten me on the meanings of болеть, боли
I know it's something about "anguish/hurt", I hear it a lot in music.

I've studied russian for 3 years, and I'm completely self taught.

Я уже (за/для/через?) Три (года/год/годов/годы?) (русский язык/ русского языка?) изучил, а я совсем сам учил.


It's always the easiest things to say in Russian that jar me up in russian. Honestly i kid you not, so basically I am having trouble with when to use the genitive or nominative in these sentences, and other things, too

Thorough answers as to how/why you corrected my russian woud be sooooo greatly appreciated.
