Thread: Confused In Love :-)

I feel silly asking for help, but I think this is the best place I can go. I have been in a long distance relationship with someone in Russia, and it has been difficult. We are trying to work things out. I did my best to translate their letter to me, using some of the online translation software, but it is not perfect. I was not able to understand the following sentence, and I think it was a rather important one. Well, the last sentence I did understand, but the first sentence was confusing and seemed to contradict the last sentence (as it was translated). How I respond has a lot to do with how this translates. Any help would be very much appreciated, but if this is asking too much, I understand.

ok, Ethan519 which translation program do you use?i believe babelfish is the best all though there Chinese translations are a little scratchy, and I'm surprised that a Russian would wright something so, so, romantic

I have been using IMTranslator (Prompt Online). I notice that it misses a lot of words and also fails to account for context very often. When we chat, we communicate with both english and russian, and since we met 8 months ago, we always have spoken with a bit of romance. We are both in our 20's, but I will take it as a good thing that the romance in my relationship might be unique

Ugh, PROMT is terrible. That's the one that translates ты as "thou." Ger called me "thou" once on IM... But it's very romantic!

Да, все как через мгновение влюбятся в принц Сомали, даже иногда парни. Поэтому я очень редко стараюсь быть романтичным, если другие присутствуют, это не очень приятно, когда пять-десять люди из улицы подоходят....
