Сделай звук вином = "turn the sound into wine". So Pranki's translation is more correct.

A few suggestions:

Боль рванула грудь: Pain hurt my chest (seems more anatomically accurate)

И змеей пущен черный слух And the snake of a dark rumour was freed (possibly summoned/conjured) (here it's a metaphor, not an actual legless reptile)

Сделай звук вином
Turn sound into wine (a reference to the famous "turn water into wine")

I also think "the fiddle/the fiddler" fit better here.

I'll just add some corrections/suggestions:

Everywhere "tsars" are mentioned ("Нищих и царей", "Кроме господа я не знал царей", etc) this is a very idiomatic (-- in the sense "mundane rulers"). Probably, mustn't be translated literally, but as "kings" or "lords".

"И змеей пущен черный слух" -- more like
"And the dark rumour crawls like snake"

"Сделай звук вином" -- definitely means "Turn sound into wine".

Finally it's interesting: is the pun in the song's name as obvious in English, as it is in Ruissian?
"Play with fire" -- 1) "Play a dangerous games (like with fire, literally)"; 2) "Play ecstatically".
