The important thing is that it's fully understandable, that's what we try to achieve when speaking. Yes, it's not something a native speaker would say, but it gets the point across without any problems.

There are a lot of ways to say what you wanted but I'd go for this:

С тех пор как я начал изучать русский язык, я заметил, что артикли стали от меня ускользать, когда я пишу на английском.
