Both phrases sound very bad in Russian. You actually have to think a moment for their meaning to sink in.
I'm afraid, I can't offer a better version since I don't exactly understand this expression in English. Does it mean she's not actually pretty, but acts like she is (i.e. she's very confident)?
So maybe this will work: "Она считает себя красавицей и ведет себя соответственно", "Она ведет себя, как королева", etc., i.e. more descriptive phrases.

Let's wait what others will say. Maybe they'll think of something better.

Well, I believe "act pretty"/"she always trying to act pretty" is the same, as "she always trying to act nice" so "act pretty" means "ведет себя красиво".
Or if you mean that she always try to make good impression on somebody, and that's why she acts pretty, so that will be "она всегда пытается произвести хорошее впечатление".

Without context, I have no idea what is meant by "she acts pretty". I don't think it sounds any better in English than it does in Russian. I have to think about what it means, and even then I'm not sure.

The only idea it conveys to me is that she somehow behaves as though she is attractive when she isn't. If I knew someone like that, I wouldn't say, "She acts pretty", I'd say, "She thinks she's pretty."

Don't worry your pretty little heads about making it sound good in Russian, 'cause it's awkward even in English.

Translators should consider even awkward language. That's the point...
