Уж от кого-кого Please translate into Latin...I mean English

Уж от кого-кого, а от них никак нельзя было ожидать, чтобы они попали в какую-нибудь странную или загадочную ситуащию.

From the 1st page of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

    thanks

I don'n know the appropriate english equivalent for that, but that means: "what they've done (the mysterious situation), I could expect from anybody but them".
Could you please occasionally correct my stupid errors!

They, like no one else, have never been expected to appear in the middle of some strange or mysterious situation.

    Something like that.

    Maybe the original will help:

They were the last people you'd expect to be involved in anything strange or mysterious, because they just didn't hold with such nonsense.

The last version "They were the last people you'd expect to..." by E-learner is the best.
Well, I don't know what to say. I want to say thanks to the Academy, to Mama, to Papa and to my dog. I love you all.

    It's not by E-learner, it's by J.K. Rowling

Cited by e-learner. Why not to obtain the original, in English then? Why to traslate backwards?

    What is E-Learner?

What is E-learner, a translation program. If so, it seems sophisticated if it can translate an entire sentence as well as it has done the one being discussed.

Also, regarding the quote- it was not written by JK Rowling, but by И.В. Оранского, the Russian translator of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. As far as translating backwards, there are many subltle differences between the English and Russian versions.
