    недопер

ok, i asked my siberian friend for some slang and this was one of the words she gave me. just wanted to know the 'native' opinion of it is. ie, do people say it much? will i sound slightly gay if i use it?
i now always like to check the slang i pick up, ya know, just to be sure.

Where I grew up "slag" means "a woman of questionable Virtue" or similar. I think you mean to say "slang", don't you?

Не допёр просторечное, грубость (когда по отношению к другому), сленг - не понял.

"Не допер" means "I can't understand". Notice it have to be written in two words because there is slang word "допер" which means "I understood". I can't say these words are used very often, but they are used
My English isn't so good, зато с русским все в порядке ))
I'll be very thankful, if you correct my mistakes.

Nice edit but you still have one "slag" left.

In my dictionary 'slag' is also 'the dross or scoria of a metal'. First entry. Chiefly British is the second entry which is about women.

Yes you are right. Slag is also that smooth and glass like substance found as waste from smelting metal.

i was also told by an australian girl in russia that some australians (maybe of the poorer educated sort) use 'slag' as a verb meaning to spit

The third, and the last, entry of my dictionary (sorry for quoting ) runs that 'slag' is also the verb, chiefly British, meaning 'to criticize harshly'.

Australians really use different English, which is hard to understand.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. To slag is also to spit. Something you should know in case you are ever invited to partake in a slag fight.

"Не допёр" не обязательно грубость. Между своими вполне употребимо (хотя это тоже от многого зависит). В разговоре же с незнакомыми людьми сленг вообще лучше не употреблять. Впрочем, зависит от ситуации.
