As for the mysterious п*здец, it is not really p*ssy/c*nt, but its derivative. My understanding is that it is a hybrid between п*здa (p*ssy/c*nt) and the end (конец), basically a sh*tty end. And that's what it means, a tragic end with an exclamation point. However, it could be used as an expression of extreme delight among artsy and other refined people.

I'm inclined to think the following because of -ец:

Словообразовательная единица, образующая разговорно-просторечные синонимы мотивирующих имен существительных общего рода (напр. стервец, шельмец)

But who really knows.

-ец is very common, although quite old suffix, it may denote anything you want. Красавец, молодец, палец, творец. Песец at last, which sometimes is an euphemism (replacement) for the word you mentiioned above.
Personnally I like this phrase: "Песец подкрался незаметно".
