Thread: Этот сайт правильно?

Я практикул с этим сайтом. Оно - практика для падежи. Я не думаю немного этих правильного.<Okay, I'm having a lot of trouble with that sentence. Anyway, this site is really confusing me. It's saying words should be in dative when I never would've guessed that. Out of the 4 or 5 choices they give, I choose the right one last! I'm just starting to wonder if it's the site that's wrong.

To give this thread an actual question; Does the word appearing with в not require prepositional sometimes? The site says: Одежда висит в (шкаф) Correct answer: шкафу... What? As well as: Мой дядя интересуется (астрология) Correct answer: астрологией. "...Interested (with) astrology". Is this a specific construction that uses instrumental?

Одежда висит в шкафу - Yes, that's the way to go and шкафу is not in dative but in prepositional - висит (в чем? Где?) в шкафу.
Мой дядя интересуется астрологией - That's correct as well and that is not a specific construction, it's just that the verb интересоваться requires an object in instrumental.

Also: Этот сайт правильно? should be этот сайт правильный? Why? Because правильно is an adverb and you tried to modify the noun (сайт) with it, but for that you clearly need an adjective.

Я практикул с этим сайтом. Оно - практика для падежи - Практикул is not a word, also you refered to сайт with оно, but сайт is masculine so you should have refered to it with он.

Anyway, you managed to get your point across with your Russian sentences and that's what matters. So excellent job!

Your lesson, in my opinoin, was pretty advanced. So I wouldn't worry too much about those edge cases -- memorize them as they come and move on Actually I would concentrate more on iCake's corrections as I believe they will help you be understood more easily.

Site is correct. I took 8/10 (mistake 1: pro + ???, v sadax: unjustified mistake).
Indeed some of the constructions are confusing for foreigners learning Russian.
But there are reasonable explanations.
Some times predlozhnyi padezh is expressed with this ending: v sadu, v shkafu, v lesu etc.
Also sometimes in order to indicate period of time Russians use Tvoritel'nyi padezh: utrom, zimoi, letom, vesnoi etc. And this might be confusing in understanding the general meaning. For this reason you did minor mistakes.
Also some words indicating quantity require the use of Roditel'nyi padezh e.g. bolshe, menshe etc
Finally some standardized constructions: Mne veselo/grustno.
