It's "he". Сынуля means son.
I think Russian and Polish (my father speaks polish at home and he's gonna spend a lot of time with his grandson)

I don't think you can refer to a child as 'it'... that just sounds really weird...

I mean a baby! If you can't tell if it's a boy or a girl, what else can you call it? In this case I knew it was a boy because the author stated so, but I say 'it' anyway. Perhaps because I am not very fond of babies. Lol, no offence to Alware of course, it's great that you had a son, just don't make me hold it/him.

You just haven't seen him. He's the cutiest boy in the world

old habits die hard I guess... next time try to use "the child", "the baby", that is quite neutral enough!
