    TV series/

I know that many people here don't watch TV series or despise them. But probably every person watched at least a few episodes in the past. I for one always thought TV series to be a waste of time, but lately I changed my mind (they do have their merits ).

Can you tell me what TV series do (did) you like? Or about any TV series you consider extremely stupid? Just curious. (No anime, please)

I like "Grey's Anatomy" and "House".

    Wow. Pretty harsh words, Grommy....
Don't confuse "series" with "soaps", and I think "look down on" is probably a better choice of words than "despise".

Anyhoo, in my experience, the people who make the most noise about how terrible they are, are usually those that watch them everyday. (how else would they know?! )

    Here's my Hall of Fame/Shame
    The Best:
    - Morse (wins hands down, even now)
    - Frost, Inspector Lynley, Wire in the Blood, and yes, Midsomer Murders - etc - pretty much all of the BBC police/detective series
    - the BBC costume drama series, again, most of them, but with Pride and Prejudice as my fave. Colin Firth, nuff said.
    - American: Heroes. Fantastic.
    - Soap(ish): Gilmore Girls: not the greatest inventive stories, but great dialog writing and very enjoyable timing.
    - for laughs: nothing beats Monty Python's Flying Circus. Though I catch myself watching the umpteenth rerun of Allo Allo again.

And I've probably missed quite a few.

    The Worst:
    - The Bold and the Beautiful!!! :P (and all the others of the kind).
    - Friends (sorry to the fans - I just find it very boring.....) and any of the loud American sitcoms with faaar too much and faaar too loud canned laughter.
    - Things like Dr. Phil. *shudder*
P ...... and my brain hurts too....

I cant think of some new ones, so only old:
    Moonlighting
    M*A*S*H

Oh how could I forget about South Park! And yeah first several seasons of Солдаты was cool, I didn't watch it for purpose though.

Счастливы вместе is kinda dumb but its alright for having dinner and relaxing the brain :)

All pretty good, and all easily downloadable or available at your nearest pirate kiosk:

    The Wire
    Battlestar Galactica
    Spooks

On preview I noticed how in each language I have one crime series, one spy thriller, and one sci-fi...huh.

Quite a lot series fans here. Let's see...

Dogboy182 with "Солдаты"... I've seen a couple of episodes, it's not bad. I'd probably love it when I was a kid (I liked army movies).

    "House"
is rather cool. Hugh Laurie is fantastic as G.H., but the series turn out to be more and more boring and repetetive after the end of s02. I liked the beginning of the fourth season, though. Wilson was hilarious in the episode with the kidnapped guitar.

"Grey's Anatomy", "Seinfeld" - some friends of mine recommend them, but I'm still unsure whether I sould watch it. )

My closest friend tries to make me watch it for years, but I just can't. These squeaky voices and huge eyes grate on my nerves, literally. And all guys there are too girly for my taste.
I respect Miyazaki, though (he's a great artist) and I liked a couple of anime films when I was a kid (we didn't call it anime at the time, it was just a "мультфильм"): "Barefoot Gen" (watched it when I was 6 and was suitably impressed) and later "Grave of the Fireflies". Both were very sad.

I'll answer to the other posts later. )

I prefer кавай with a touch of gore. )))))

    I actively support this point.
    BBC period dramas as well.

God's fish, how could I forget to write BBC!

I am. I've become too much fed up with Hollywood and Disney cliches with time, to start enjoying psychologism without happy ends and all that weird Japanese mentality. I still hate kavaii though.

and I will still be very thankful if you correct my mistakes.
